ABOUT US


Manitou Springs School District 14 serves approximately 1510 students from pre-kindergarten to grade 12 who reside in the communities of Manitou Springs, Cascade, Green Mountain Falls, Chipita Park and Cedar Heights. In addition, we serve over 400 “choice” students that come to our District from other locations in El Paso and Teller Counties. We offer a “small town” educational environment and we are driven by "Relationships, Rigor and Opportunity" as we serve our children and our communities. At Manitou Springs District 14 we are proud of our success in meeting the needs of every student. In addition to a challenging academic curriculum, all of our schools offer comprehensive art, physical education, music, computer technology, special education, and gifted and talented instruction. Students may choose from many enriching after school programs. Our schools have consistently received a “High” rating on the Colorado state Accountability Report. The class sizes in our elementary schools typically range from 18-25 students. Average middle school size is 24 students, and average high school class size is 22 students.

Press Release:
Academy District 20's Brain Injury Team, in conjunction with Manitou Springs School District 14, is sponsoring a FREE Concussion Summit, entitled "Changing our Attitude" on Tuesday, April 17th from 6:30pm-8:30pm at Manitou Springs Elementary School Auditorium (110 Pawnee Street, Manitou Springs).  The Summit will begin with a keynote address from Dr. Mike Nunley, PhD a neuropsychologist specializing in youth brain injury recovery.  The Summit will also include a panel of invited speakers, including: Emily O'Keefe, Athletic Trainer; Joni Sexauer, School Nurse; Sommer Lang, School Counselor; Brian Brown, Parent; and Dylan Brown, Student.  The panelists will discuss various aspects of brain injury in students, including impact and recovery immediately after the injury, returning home, and returning to the classroom. A question and answer session will follow the panelists' presentations.
Funding for this summit is made possible by a grant from the Colorado Traumatic Brain Injury Trust Fund.
